Default Butcher Holler

Who was the first CF to hit two HR's in one game against the Yankees in a Yankee home game?

The last time this occurred was just over a week ago by a player on the same team as the first player to ever do this.

Johnny Damon hit 2 last week, and he was the 1st CF for the Red Sox to ever hit 2 HR's against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Fred Lynn hit two against the Yankees while playing CF but that was at Shea Stadium.

Game Played on Wednesday, April 16, 1975 (D) at Shea Stadium

At long last we have a winner. Note the question only said a "Yankee home game".

As for the hint it is about legendary country singer Loretta Lynn who had a mega-hit record in "The Coal Miner's Daughter" which briefly describes her life growing up in Butcher Hollow ("Holler") Kentucky.

Well, I saw the game that Johnny Damon hit the two and they stated that it was the 1st time that a CF of the Boston Red Sox had hit 2 home runs at Yankee Stadium. They stated that Fred Lynn hit 2 but that was at Shea.

Are you sure that Lynn's 2 home runs was the 1st all-time, because that is not what they stated that night. That's why it took me so long to answer this one.

This was according to ESPN on BBTN. I really wanted to ask who was the first CF to hit two HR's in YS, but that was too new.
