Question David Ross In LA

Was his power last year the real deal? Is he a sleeper for 2004 fantasy mavens?

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Have you read The Baseball Same Game?

it depends on whether LA signs someone for the corners. I've heard talk of him getting more PT at C and LoDuca moving to 1B/LF

He has 134 career at bats, which I think still make him a rookie. He's not in the dodgers top ten. He'll be 27 when the season starts. He wasn't in last years top thirty. I'm guessing small sample size fluke. More evidence of such: He hit .221 in 86 atbats at Las Vegas last season with 5 home runs. 27 k's against 11 walks. Actually 5 homers in 86 at bats is pretty decent. But he looks like that's all he can do. I don't see him sticking.
I should get a copy of the BA Super Register. I could find his total minor league stats then.

He's had some mixed results in the minors: http://www.sports-wired.com/players/....asp?Name=GIEB

He's had some decent on-base numbers, and seems to be able to walk enough. Kind of strikes me as a Depodesta guy.

Too early to call. Most publications, though, don't seem too high on his possible future. His minors performance doesn't strike me as that impressive.
