Will is predicting that the Redsox-Rangers deal is an inseason deadline deal, so let's start making some more picks.
I'm predicting that, if the Yankees are in a race with the Redsox and the Diamondbacks fall out of contention, Randy Johnson's going to the Yankees.

I think Jerry C would rather go broke than help the Yankees in any way.

That would be a record low for players rumored to be headed to the Yankees.

On a serious end, I can see the Angels and Cubs looking for a top of the order bat if they are in contention, since both lack such. If the Braves are in contention, they should be able to add some pitching (They said they were cutting payroll, but I think they've dropped a good $25 million, thus I would think that Schuerholz would have some flexibility-which could be his plan, you never know).
The A's will try to get an undervalued hitter so they can get Dye or Byrnes out of the lineup. Or perhaps a second baseman if Ellis can't get back on track.

Way to early for this. Just about anybody to anyone in contention. But, in the spirit of the thing I wouldn't be shocked if the Yanks made a move for Carlos Beltran.

As much as I hate the Cubs, I could (seriously) see them trading Kerry Wood, Gonzalez and Alou to the Rangers for A-Rod. I think for the chance to go another 80 years without a world series with the Cubs might grab his attention.

No way the Cubs trade Wood - they may dangle Cruz, Zambrano, Kelton, and Pie, and others to get A-Rod.
