For the season referenced in the subject line of this thread, who would be your pick for Best Positional Player (Include defense and position played in your determination), Best Pitcher, Best First Year Player and any other topics of discussion from this season.

Best Hitter: Gavvy Cravath
Not a great year for hitters in the NL. Cravath had a decent season but no one else really challenged him.

Best Pitcher: Pete Alexander
Alexander had one of the best years ever. He was 31-10 with an ERA+ of 225.

Hitters - Cravath, Larry Doyle and Fred Luderus in that order. Bill Hinchman had a pretty good year (and will have another in 1916) - pretty similar to Luderus. Doyle played 2B, so he gets a boost (and hit better too).

Pitcher - Alexander.

and then everyone else, maybe Dick Rudolph #2? 22-19 2.38 147K's. Jeff Pfeffer will have a better year in 1916 and Tesreau is again a level below.
