When was the first time 20 HR's were hit on one day in ML history?

1949 was not in the Roaring 20's.

I figured that the 20s part of Roaring 20's regarded the number of homers asked about in the question. How about July 4, 1927?

It was not in July, or on the 4th, or in 1927.

I know you said that it wasn't in July, but I found this date:
07/29/1922 21 homers as the first time 20+ total homers were hit in a single day.

My date is later than. My source is pretty good but not perfect. It doesn't say anything about your date.

My source also lists July 1, 1925, and July 4, 1925, as the second and third times, respectively, of 20+ homers total, but I guess your date wouldn't be any of those since they're all in July. My source is from something I read from the guy who runs the home run database for SABR....

We may as well kill this question, baseballlibrary.com has May 12, 1925 as the date.
