Wink Score It FO-8 and put it in the books

Is it just me, or, more often than not, does it seem that the last out of a World Series is a fly out to center?

It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.

Did 1975 end this way? 2002?

Last out of 2002 WS is Lofton's flyball to CF Darrin Erstad.
I wonder did it ever happen the last out is groundball to pitcher?

Yes, in 1975, Yaz hit a shallow fly to Geronimo to end it.

Ty: The Blue Jays clinched the 1992 World Series on a grounder to Mike Timlin. I sort of remembered that, but I had to look at Retrosheet to have it come to mind.

1995 ended on a flyball to CF too, and 1999 sounds like something that could've been to left-center. (Chad Curtis in left caught that final out)

I THINK it's just you though, Wolf...

For obvious reasons, like support for my avatar, I refused to watch that happen, and in fact I only just knew it ended like that today.

Every once in a while a series ends with a bloop over the pulled-in shortstop.

I'll be good -- 85 year droughts can occassionally bring out the worst in even the merriest of the seasons...
