In another thread, the STATS Major League Handbook was mentioned. For those who aren't familiar with it, it's STATS book that contains the yearly records of everyone in the majors.
I would like to remind people that there is an alternative to that product. You can purchase a copy of the sabermetric baseball encyclopedia, at http://www.baseball-encyclopedia.com. That will give you everyone in the major's yearly stats, as well as everyone else in history, as well as plenty of other features. In addition to the sabermetric baseball encyclopedia, I also created a couple of other types of products-- 1) The active player documents. These are a set of Microsoft Word documents that contain the yearly records of everyone who was active in the majors in 2001, or anyone would have been but missed the season due to an injury. It's the same data as the STATS book, but have some advantages-- A) all of the player records came from the sabermetric baseball encyclopedia, which means they have more stats than the STATS book. Also, the player documents contain the league average and positional average lines that are custom tailored to each player. B) It's cheaper than the STATS book. Both products are $19.95, but if you buy the STATS book, you have to deal with sales tax and, if you order online, you have to deal with postage. The active players documents have no sales tax and postage is only 80 cents, which will be less than the book's sales tax and it's postage. Or, if you prefer to have the set of files emailed to you, there is no shipping charge. Encyclopedia customers save 25% off the cost of the player documents. So, instead of them costing $19.95, the price drops to $14.95. If you have already purchased the encyclopedia and now you're interested in the active player documents, you still get them at the reduced price. Instead of going through the website, please contact me and I'll let you know how to proceed. C) Because the email option is available, you can receive them immediately, instead of having to drive to the store and wait on line or have to wait for an online book order to come. 2) Your favorite team's documents. These are a set of Microsoft Word documents that give you the hitting and pitching records of everyone who played for your favorite team. You'll get everyone's complete career records and not just the time he played for that team. For example, Roger Clemens is included in the Yankees, Redsox and BlueJays sets, and each one contains his full career. Every team is available. The favorite team documents also cost $19.95, but there is a 25% discount for encyclopedia purchasers. Meanwhile, encyclopedia purchasers save 33% off both sets of documents, if they order both the active players and the favorite team documents. If you've already ordered the encyclopedia, but now want to take advantage of this offer, please contact me directly. The drawback to the documents, over the book, is you have to print them out yourself. (Of course, you can always look at them on the screen, whether they're printed or not.) But, I think the advantages outweigh that drawback.

That's a good idea.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the file into the FrontPage web, so it can be uploaded to the site and then become available to be downloaded. If anyone wants a sample file, let me know and I'll email it to you.

Lee - - try this - - just load the file, say called "sample.doc" to your server space, and then set up a link - - and, instead of having the hyper link point to another html document have it point to "http://www.yoursitename.net/sample.doc"
When visitors click on that click, it should prompt their PC to down the file (sample.doc).

I tried putting it online, but the server doesn't let anyone gain access to anything other than a .htm file without presenting my user name and password for uploading.

If you want, send me the file and I'll load it on the netshrine.com server tonight and let you use the URL for it.
