Wink Rey Ordonez - End Of The Line?

Is this it for Rey-Rey, in his early 30's? Does no one want a no-hit, overrated defensively, and somewhat problem child SS?

All it takes for one GM in the majors to combine watching Sportscenter, believing in diving for balls = good defense and throw in the fact that, in a small sample size in 2003, he was a ".300 hitter" and Ordonez will be starting for someone in 2004.

Yes, I could see some team desperate for IF depth picking him up. Whether he would sign up for a chump change contract or not is another thing.

Lee, Ordonez did not have a Rey Sanchez like .300 average. Before he was injured, Ordonez actually appeared he could hit legitimately, much to my happiness. I have stronger opinions of your post but there are content guidelines here.

If Ordonez is able to recover from his injury, some team is definitely going to take a flyer on him. His best bet will be on an AL team though.

Maybe 2003 was a fluke, but with the fact he was capable of putting up a legitimate average and supplanted it with power (who needs walks?), will easily give some teams interest. Quite honestly, I think Seattle would be a good fit...since I've heard a lot of talk of Guillen going to the hot corner again. I mean, Ordonez could hit better than Cirillo.

I find it hard to believe this particular Rey is at the end of the line. Now, the other Rey...that's another story.

LGO, rey's season was a one-yr fluke masked by his limited AB.
