Goodwin resigns with Cubs

One year, 650k. I have to give Goodwin credit - he had a number of key pinch hits last year. But it's a shame that Lofton wouldn't take the #4 OF spot.

I think even 650K is too much for Goodwin's diminished skills, which weren't that good to begin with.

The Cubs have made some good moves this offseason, but I don't think this contributes much to their team. At least the money isn't bad, so it's not like they're taking much of a risk.

Goodwin's skills have diminished? I wasn't aware he had skills to begin with.

The Cubs had better hope that Patterson is 100% back from his injury by early May, or else it's going to be a long season. Goodwin is good enough to spot Patterson once/week against a tough lefty. Sure, they could have gotten somebody out of AAA for 300k, but in the Cubs' grand plan it's not the worst move in the world.
