Default Home Sweet Home

Since 1960, who had the highest batting average at their home park in one season (with enough PAs to qualify for the batting championship)? What was the average?

I'll kick this off with George Brett's .388 in 1988.

I meant 1980, of course.

Did Brett hit .388 at home and on the road?

I don't know exactly what he hit on the road, but he must have hit around .392 since he finished with a .390 average.

It's more recent than 1980.
According to Retrosheet, Brett hit .391 at home and .388 away.

I'll guess Larry Walker - I know he hit .406 at Coors Field in 2001.

It was Walker at Coors Field, but it wasn't in 2001. That's half the answer so far!

The complete answer for this one is Larry Walker, who hit .461 at Coors Field in 1999. The next highest I know of is .453 by Lefty O'Doul in 1929 at the Baker Bowl.
