Default Hentgen returns to Blue Jays

According to several sources, Pat Hentgen will return to the Blue Jays after signing a one-year, $2.2 million deal:

I know he's not the Cy Young winner he once was, but he's a step up from what the Jays have had on the back end of their rotation for the past few years.

He was probably just as good as Sidney Ponson last year. Two mill could be a bargain.

It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.

Not a terrible risk. There is not much upside though.

Hey, if he can just not set stadiums ablaze as a #4/#5 starter (see Estes, Shawn) then it's a solid signing.

That's why I was happy with the signing. If you take a look at the back end of the Jays' rotation last season - for that matter, anyone other than Halladay - it wasn't the most solid group. Hentgen may not be an ace, but I still believe he's a step up, and one that didn't cost a lot.

If he can give them 180 or so innings, he's worth it.

Default Hentgen's Back!

Yep!

The first pitcher to win a Cy Young in a Jays uniform is coming back to Toronto.

I know he didn't do much last year for the O's but I, for one am glad to see him return.

I see great things next season with Pat & Roy in the starting line-up.
