Default MVPs

Ok. Lots of press on how BB just got his 6th, twice as many as anyone else. Lot of speculation on how many others would have won in various scenarios. So, put your money where your mouth is.

Keep it simple - list your top MVP winners, how many times they shoulda won it, and why.

It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.

Yes, all time. Its the NDF MVP Award - but (sorry Smed) lets keep it to 1900+.

Edited to add: never mind, if someone wants to list their favorite AA or other players pre 1900, I dont care. Go for it.

Ruth should have won 12 of them.

Specifics and why, please. (most are obvious, I suppose)

I'll have a hard time answering this until we finish the "Winter Fun" in the other section.

Personally I can't believe Eddie Murray never won one.

Every year that he won the NPOTY award, I also would have picked him for AL MVP.

That occurred to me after I posted Steve - you'd already publicized your choices. D'oh.

looking at the NetShrine Player of the Year awards (of course, these are only one per year, instead of one per league per year):

12 Babe Ruth
7 Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle
6 Honus Wagner
5 Dan Brouthers, Ed Delahanty, Stan Musial, Barry Bonds
