Default World Series Centennial Celebration

For anyone who might be interested, the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will be hosting a World Series Centennial Celebration this Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12.

The activities will include a World Series panel discussion on A Century of World Series Baseball. Authors Roger Abrams, who has written about the first Series in 1903, and David Pietrusza, who has written about the 1919 World Series, will participate in the panel in the Bullpen Theater, beginning at 11:30 am on Saturday the 11th. Admission to the World Series panel is free of charge.

Also, four Hall of Famers will be in Cooperstown this weekend. Bob Feller and Carlton Fisk will sign copies of the book, Baseball As America, on Saturday morning at 10:00 am. And then on Sunday the 12th, Lou Brock and Bill Mazeroski will sign books, again at 10:00 am.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me an e-mail at bmarkusen@baseballhalloffame.org or bmark@telenet.net.

Sounds like a good time - but Bruce wasn't the actual centennial series held in 1984? Viva le Providence Grays!

Bruce - will the panel discuss 1904 and 1994 at all?

POSTING TIP FOR THE DAY: When composing a post, think about what you would say if the intended recipient was an individual who was actually sitting just two feet in front of you, in person, rather than just some far away and anonymous audience who only can identify you as text on a PC screen - - and then write your post in that manner. It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.
