Default Roy Horn Mauled by Siberian Tiger

In startling out of Vegas Roy Horn (The shorter dark haired half of Siegfried & Roy) was mauled on stage by a tiger in his act. After being struck on the snout a couple of times by Roy the Tiger attacked Roy and drug him off-stage by the neck. Crew members were able to disengage the tiger and get Roy to a local hospital after what was described as "massive blood loss". Roy is currently in "critical, but stable" condition and is communicating with doctors.

Roy was rescued by crew members who used fire extinguishers to get the tiger off Roy. Those people must have stones the size of basketballs.

The tiger is currently being quartantined, but no one knows what it's fate will be. Penn Gillette, a good friend of Roy's, said you cannot blame a tiger for acting like a tiger.

Just saw that S&R have now laid off 267 workers since the show is off.

POSTING TIP FOR THE DAY: When composing a post, think about what you would say if the intended recipient was an individual who was actually sitting just two feet in front of you, in person, rather than just some far away and anonymous audience who only can identify you as text on a PC screen - - and then write your post in that manner. It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.

I guess it was bound to happen, really. Like Mr. Gillette said, the tiger was just being what it is - a wild animal and a predator.

I can't imagine what it would be like getting mauled by an animal like that. And I thought I had it rough during my little run-in with a pitbull a few years ago!

I'm not a fan of shows like S&R, but at least they seem to love the animals they work with. I'm sure Mr. Horn won't harbor any ill feelings toward the animal, despite what it did to him.

Not to be off-topic or insensitive ... but what the heck to S&R have 267 workers (or more) for in the first place?
