Exclamation Sorry About The Low Life SPAMer

Back on August 9th, NDF member "baseball4life23" sent out 21 Private Messages to fellow NDF members - telling them to check out his baseball forum. This is in direct violation of the NDF Community Standards and therefore they were bounced from the forum.

Later, it came to our attention that "baseball4life23" also registered to the NDF under the name "baseballfreak23."

On 9/6/03, the following note was sent to "baseballfreak23/baseball4life23" - -

Quote:
We know that you have reregistered for the NDF and we will be monitoring your activity on the boards. Please be sure to respect the NDF Community Standards while using the NDF. Thank you.

NDF Admin

Today, through the system software, I determined that "baseballfreak23" sent out PMs to 8 NDF members, again soliciting our members to come join his forum. Therefore, the SPAMer has been bounced again.

Apologies to those who received PMs from this person. We do our best to monitor these situations. Of course, if anyone ever gets something like this, please let us know ASAP and we'll follow up on it.

The NDF is a very successful forum - due to the efforts of many, many, members. Rather than do the work themselves, there will always be lazy and underhanded people who will try and steal off the hard work done here.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience and/or annoyance that this SPAMer may have caused for 29 of our members. We have tracked his IP address and he will be removed immediately should he try to register at the NDF again.

It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.

Gee, I don't remember getting a message either time. Now I'm really offended.

Seriously Steve, thanks for the efforts you make to keep this place clean and fan friendly.

Skip, I didn't get one either. I guess I am too trivial for them.

That, or just avoiding those of us who've been here since Gehrig's retirement speech - you whippersnapper.

sidebar - just curious, what's with the leading and trailing periods? Is that a stylistic thing from someplace I'm unaware of, or just a personal 'thang'. (I'm not pro or con here, just curious).

Today, I discovered that a relatively new member of the NDF (since removed) has been using the forum software to solicit NDF members (via e-mail) to join the forum that this previous SPAMer had tried to plug here. If you received such an e-mail (or PM), please contact me at curator@netshrine.com

thanks!

It's been confirmed. Thanks to all that wrote to me. "Balla45" was the low life spamer this time. This is soooooo low - here's why:

Mike Flatt - the webmaster of the page that is being spammed here - wrote to me about 7 weeks ago asking to "partner" with his site/forum. I told him that I did not appreciate his spaming the NDF in the past (during August and September) and was not interested. He claimed at that time that he did not spam the NDF - that it was a member at his forum that did it, without his approval, and that member was punished for it. I still passed on the offer - as the story sounded strange.

Then, just last week, "Balla45" registered for the NDF - with the same e-mail address, exactly, of Mike Flatt (who was the webmaster pitching the partnership offer and claiming that he had nothing to do with the SPAM attack in the past). I let it slide with a wait and see attitude. Then, before you know it, Balla45 (Mike, the "innocent" webmaster) starts spamming, asking members here to come join his forum.

How low can a person be?

Today, we found out that our low life spamer is back. Mike Flatt, recently registered (again!) to the NDF, under the user name "brentl" and started sending PMs to our members - - like this

Quote:
I saw you were a pretty good baseball poster at this forum so I was wondering if you would be interested in joining our book club at NAME OF LOSER'S FORUM DELETED. You have to register at URL DELETED first in order to view the forums. We are currently talking about DELETED books as my moderator had an interview with him recently.

We currently more than 1,900 members at our forums and have some great fans. It would be great to see you over there. I'm interested in you writing articles as you seem like you'd be good with it, but currently we are full of writers.

Sorry to all who were annoyed by his loser. It's sad that he keeps coming back here, again, and again, and again, to try and seed his forum. If it was as great as he claims, then why the low life attempts to keep sneaking in here to SPAM? Hopefully, this loser, Mike Flatt, will get a clue, and then get a life, and stay away.

Mike - we keep catching you trying to SPAM the NDF. Go somewhere else. It's not going to work here.

All - again, sorry for the actions of this loser. We do our best to prevent this stuff at the NDF - - but, those who live under rocks sometimes have the ability to sneak in once in a while - - - but, not for long.

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

When you fail four times, I guess the loser credo is "Try it a fifth time!"

Once again, Mike Flatt joined the NDF. This time under the username "RedSoxFever."

FYI, his account under this name has now been closed. Mike, upon registering under RedSoxFever, sent me a PM asking about an e-mail that he supposedly sent me. I e-mailed him back saying that I never got it. He then e-mailed me saying that he had "been thinking of [his] actions lately and have decided that [he] was acting childish and immature when [he] registered at [our] forums and asked members to join [his] site to write articles/share opinions on [their] discussions."

Meanwhile, at the same time he sent me this PM, he sent a PM to another forum member here asking for a contribution to his site.

This fellow, Mike Flatt, is the lowest of the low on the Internet. Five times now he's tried this stunt! And, what makes it worse is that he does not just try to steal alone - he has the nerve say one thing to your face and do something else behind your back. Being a loser is one thing. Being a loser and a liar is worse. Being a repeat loser and liar is even worse. Times that by five - and it's off the charts!

Well, he keeps trying - like I said, 5 times now - I'm sure there will be another try - - - he's a very desperate loser. If anyone is ever contacted by another NDF member and gets SPAM, please let me know ASAP - thanks!

FYI, it's come to our attention that Mike Flatt is now using AIMs listed on profiles here to send IMs to NDF members - again, pitching his site. If this bothers you, please remove your AIM from your profile.

Sorry. Man, this loser just does not give up!

More "Loser/Thief" Mike Flatt news to share here..........

as you may recall, about two years ago, we at the NDF came up with some cool names for the sub-forums here........things like Hardball Study Hall, Concessions Concourse, etc. You can see how they looked here: http://www.netshrine.com/vbulletin2/...splay.php?f=56

And, about a year ago, we came up with the "Posting Protocol For This Particular Forum" thread idea - like this one: http://www.netshrine.com/vbulletin2/...ead.php?t=8132

Well, it has just come to our attention that, at his forum, Mike Flatt - the worm, is calling is sub-forums "Concessions Concourse" and "Hardball Study Hall" and "Feature Forums" (like we have now). And, he's using "Posting Protocol" threads that are, just about word for word, the same as ours here.

FWIW, three days ago, I sent him a note, asking "Have you ever done anything on your own steam or do you just steal everything from others as a routine course of conduct?"

No answer yet. We're not holding our breath. Any reply would require an original thought - which, of course, we know he is not capable of managing........maybe he can steal an answer somewhere and send it someday?
