1. Who was the OF-er who tried catching Hank Aaron's #715?
2. Which OF-er played a part in both the NYM's 1969 and 1986 WS games? What parts did he play in both? |

1. Buckner.
2. Kiner. He was drunk in the pressbox for both series.

Let me be more specific in #2: he was part of a team in both 69 and 86 series. |

Sure it was an OF and not a 2B?

I sorta figured that's who you had in mind. Right you are.
He was on the field when the Birds lost to the Mets in 69 and managed the Mets in 86. I'll research a little better next time but this is my maiden voyage. |

If I am not mistaken, Bud Harrelson was part of the coaching staff in '86. He would have been an acceptable answer too, since OF did not really apply.

If true, that would be correct. I just can't find anything about him coaching in the 1986 season. He'd retired before then and I think he coaches (or at least assists with) some minor league team now, but only managers are listed in baseball-reference.com. If you can find a link, please let me know.
http://www.baseball-reference.com/h/harrebu01.shtml And I suppose if I asked for someone who was on the Mets staff for both 1986 and 2000 WS teams, your answer would be? |

I used Total Baseball as the source and Harrelson was part of Davey's coaching staff in '86.

OK, I'm wrong again not having the _only_ person who was on both staffs (1969 & 1986).
Simple no-brainer here for you (pertaining to last paragraph of my last post). Who played a _big_ part of the 1986 WS that was also on the 2000 WS staff? No looking this one up, please. |

If you are talking about a Met, then I have no friggin idea who you are talking about. If not a Met, then Clemens is the obvious.

Could be Lee Maz? He was there for both. Yog - - how about the answer so we can take this thread out of its misery?

1986 star Mookie Wilson. He's now 1B coach but I think he was 3B coach in 2000.
Yes, it has gone too long. Please forgive, it's my 1st Trivia thread so a little patience goes a long way. |
