Off the top of my head, the Braves. Why? 'cause Veras was a bust and Marcus Giles is not that good.

Giles is good.

His minor league track record indicates that he will be a good player.

The thing with Young is:
  • He'll be 35 next year
  • He's not a good 2B
  • He is not a good % basestealer
  • Basically, he only scored 98 last year due to Sammy.

Why anyone would sign him is beyond me - - unless you had a hole at 2B and he was willing to play for $500,000 on a one year contract.

I suspect the Red SOx might sign him, because he would be an improvement, but too expensive. And Giles is better than Young, any day and twice on sunday.

EY couldn't be any worse than whatever else the Red Sox have trotted out there for the past 15 years(Jody Reed, Jeff Frye, Scott Fletcher & Jose Offerman pop to mind.) I think Marty Barrett was the last decent 2nd Baseman the BoSox had. Who ever thought we would look back on Marty Barrett fondly, Oh Boy, somebody needs to take Duquette out behind the woodshed. All that and I'm not even a Red Sox fan, I don't even like em' that much.

P.S. - I love spell checks, you get some hilarious results - the 2nd option for Duquette was adequate - nothing could be further from the truth.(The 1st choice was Duquesne, as in the Dukes.)

Default CF.....

1. Reed was not that bad.....was he? I have been accused of looking at players that I have a minor league connection with, with rose tinted glasses. AND, I liked the Fry guy....he did well with us and was a good back up utility player.

2. How do I get spell check to work on Netshrine....I need it bad, occupational hazzard. In the real world you are not able read my writing.....and YES, the do teach you that in Med training.

I type out my posts on MSWORD and after I spell check them I cut & paste the article to Netshrine.

A man of my own heart. I respect people who settle for nothing less than perfection.

Because Duquette likes to sign veterans, and Young would be an improvement.
