I picked this one up in a local library. Soos is a baseball mystery writer, but he delved into baseball history for this one. It covers the national pastime in New England from 1858 to 1918. Hence, the curse reference in the title.
I haven't read the whole thing, but there are alot of great stories about games and other incidents in that era and region and plenty of good pictures as well. It seems very researched. I'm not sure if I'd want to purchase it, but I'm glad that I borrowed it from the library. GGC |
