I am a cat person - mostly I have Siamese cats, but I like all cats.
For the cat people among the NSF I highly recommend the following site which showcases the "Hallmarks of Felinity" cartoons from the "9 Chickweed Lane" comic strip : http://www.student.ipfw.edu/~osbodr0...allmark00.html enjoy

How could any wrong that he did compare with that?" - John Sears Last edited by pwdennis : 11-11-2002 at 07:01 PM. |

Living with three cats, I know from experience that those are very true.

Our live at home cat is Opie. He's a tabby. I found him trying to cross Sunset Blvd. He was so small he couldn't jump up to the curb. He's very doglike.
We have 2 others . One was catnapped by a crazy neighbor. His name is Hektor. Got him from a rescue. The other one, Louie, we adopted from a friend. He hangs out at the elderly neighbors house. Their cat died last year so it's cool. They're nice folks. We used to have a Siamese . His name was Tang. He died a few years back. He taught Opie and Hektor all they know. I named him after one of those Viet owned do-nut, sandwich, mailbox stores where old men used to hang out and play chess . He was living under a house I was getting ready to move in to. Funny cat. Tang, Opie and Hektor jave graced our kitchen with all kinds of "gifts" of dead animals. Good Kitties |

I am not much of a cat person but the wife loves them. For last Xmas I got her a flame point Himalayan. The cat is solid white except light red (well actually cinnamon colored) ears, paws, tail, and face mask. She is absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
The key point in having a cat is remembering the cardinal rule in understanding cats: Dogs have masters, Cats have staff.

Dogs all the way. I have cats, but they just don't endear themselves to me the same way.
It's strange how people so often pick one animal over the other. I'd make a profound statement about it, but I'm really not that smart. |

I like both dogs and cats. I had 2 dogs as well as my cats up until last X-mas.
Both of my dogs died within 8 months of each other. It's a mystery. Anyway, the dogs and cat(s) got along great. They played and slept together. In other words they owned the house. Try sleeping with a cat and 2 60 pound dogs on your bed. |

i'm a dog guy myself... but am indifferent to cats - will pet and try to endear myself to them when i see'em, won't miss'em otherwise.

I never had a pet until high school. My first cat was a sweet mixed grey tabby named Lysander. He was a sweet and good little cat. When I moved out of my parents' house, he became my mom's cat, but he still recognized me when I visited.
My mom put Lysander down this morning. ![]() He was sick and old. He'd had a long, happy life and gave his people lots of love. And in spite of all his illnesses he was a happy cat right up until yesterday. God bless you, Lysander. Thanks for all the love and happy memories! You're the best. I'll eat some turkey and milk in your honor. ![]()
