his 69 HRs are 18th best for the 19th century
his .806 OPS is 22nd best for the 19th century
and his 101 RCAA in 1886 was a Cubs record for 115 years until Corky Sosa surpassed it in 2001

Kelly was a legend in his own time. The inspiration for the song "Slide, Kelly, Slide". A handsome ladies man who aspired to the stage. Died young at age 37.
