Just have fun. - Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, in The Sandlot I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller! Have you read The Baseball Same Game? |

How could we not select a guy with one of the great nicknames in baseball?? I remember as a young boy (8-10) Boog being the #2 baseball player on the local Key West Conch's high school team. The #1 player was pitcher George Mira who had a decent NFL quarterbacking career.

Boog was one of the first baseball player's I'd ever heard of, for the simple fact that my dad always used to say to me (and still does sometimes) "Hey, I know you! You're Boog Powell!" after the old Miller Lite commercial
