This may be too easy for you experts, but ... What batter led the majors in BA while not winning either league's batting title? (Similar to McGwire in HR when he was traded to the Cards)

We have a winner LGO. McGee's average dropped after being traded between leagues but his in-league average was high enough to win in 1990. Murray ended up highest overall, but lower than both league winners according to the official count.

I was thinking of someone else - - a guy who had the highest overall, but didn't win a BT since we was traded and didn't have enough PA in either league to win.
