Checking Kendall records last season he got some AB's
as an OF, so Yogi is still the only catcher.

Which year(s) are you referring to f/Yogi? He'd played OF in the 1961 WS while Elston Howard was the catcher.
I see Yogi led in 1951 (547 AB's), 1954 (584 AB's), 1955 (541 AB's). I'm not sure how many of these AB's were as a C. His lifetime stats f/games are: Year / Position / Games 1951 / C / 141 1954 / C / 149 1954 / 3B / 1 1955 / C / 145 Yogi played 151 games in 1954, not 150 as the stats would seemingly indicate. He'd also played 147 games in 1955, not 145. Perhaps someone else can fill in the missing holes. Jason Kendall led his team in 2000 (579 AB's) and 2001 (606 AB's). |

Yogi led the Yankees in at bats in 1951, 54 & 55,
in those years he played catcher only. In the year Kendall had 606 ab, he played 20-30 gms elsewhere. I know Yogi played different positions later on in his career. In my household growing up, our favorite three players were: Bill Dickey Yogi Berra Elston Howard My father was a semi-pro catcher, so my brothers and I were all pitchers. A good catcher can make a good pitcher or a good pitch game.
