I like Tejada, but I'll wait until the end of the year too.

arod.
i dont think tejada is that distinguishable from chavez, anyway, considering how good a defensive 3B chavez is: Code:
i think tejada's just the espn pick du jour, like soriano in april-may, and torii hunter in june-july, and arod in august. |

A-Rod.....
How did Romero get in there ??? He's been great this season, but he's a "middle reliever"......

A-Rod is simply the best player in the league by too wide a margin to overlook him.

I had to pick A-Rod. He's just that much better than everyone else.
It hurts me a little though, because I am generally in the camp that MVP = most valuable player, not necessarily best player. However, the question is how do you measure value? If you choose RCAA or win shares, A-Rod's value is enormous. If you choose the difference that the player makes to the team's final result (i.e., playoffs or not) than his value is questionable. But he's so clearly the best player in the AL - it isn't even close - that I can't help but pick him. I think I'd put Garrett Anderson second on my ballot.

I also voted A-Rod. And no, Sweaver et al, no procastinating. How can we all come back after the seasons over to complain and rag on each other, without a sequence of bad decisions from which to choose?
![]() As poll happy as we have been here the past months, I'm sure there'll be an "end of season" poll for each award, followed by a "who got jobbed the most" poll once the awards are announced, followed by several more over the long cold winter. ![]() |

It is funny though, that despite our scrappy recent dialog(s) over the meaning of MVP, we have two unanimous polls so far, both for the "best" player, even though one's in last place, and the other is scrapping for the WC but way out of the division lead.

Tejada and Eckstein are both huge contributers on contending teams, but if you replaced either of them with A-Rod, the race would be over by now.

I admit that in the poll I selected Tejada but after reading the posts I have to go with A-Rod. He's just having an awesome season and I think he's made the fewest errors at SS. I think he gets the lifetime achievement award this time.

Giambi. Though he'll be penalized for having good hitters around him.

A-Rod. Although Giambi, Thome, or Tejada would all be good choices.
