If you don't already know who the NL Babe Ruth Award winner is, please let me know and I will remove you from the list. 1. Interesting that Raines won 2 and Rickey won none.

2. Lee, is the RCAA leader automatically the Babe Ruth Award winner, or is there discretion if the leaders are within <x> RCAA of each other?

Is Bonds' 2002 season the best ever by a batter?

I think this year was more impressive than last year for Bonds. It probably is the best season ever.

Rickey won 1, in 1990. He just didn't show up on the NL list.

The RCAA leader is usually the Babe Ruth Award winner, but that's not a fixed rule. I have no rule on how close someone has to be in order to beat the RCAA leader.

With two more, can we call it the Barry Bonds award?

Bonds could be one of the most underrated players (by the general public) in the history of the game.

We may be near the point where not only do conventional stats fail to do justice to his greatness, but secondary stats may be failing as well.

Simply unbelieveable.

probably, though unfortunately people will usually remember his 73 HR performance of last year.....unless maybe if he wins the WS

I don't think it would be unfortunate for Bonds's 2001 season to be ranked ahead of 2002.

In 2001, you have the RCAA and SLG records, the NL runs created record, 22 more runs created and 8 more RCAA.

And where is the evidence that his head is bigger in 2002 than 2001?

That will probably happen, but if 2002 is the one that is remembered, then the masses are eventually going to reduce his season to just a single swing--that long World Series HR?

And sooner or later, if 755 falls, the masses are going to forget everything else he accomplished and will just remember that.

But, I say who cares about the oversimplication of the masses.
