1) According to the Detroit Free Press, the Diamondbacks may be interested in including Erubiel Durazo as part of a package to get Tigers P Jeff Weaver, while the Arizona Republic also reports Durazo's available.

2) According to the Montreal Gazette, the Expos are interested in Cliff Floyd, with Carl Pavano being part of the deal. Meanwhile, the Miami Herald reports the Expos, Braves and Giants are the frontrunners for Floyd, with him possibly being traded during the break.

3) According to NY Newsday, the Mets and Phillies have had trade talks on a Scott Rolen for Edgardo Alfonzo Deal, with the Phillies also interested in Scott Strickland and Jay Payton.

Meanwhile, Alfonzo had to leave yesterday's game, after being hit in the head by a pitch, and is day to day.

4) Orioles VP Syd Thrift says the team is more likely to keep Scott Erickson than to trade him.

5) According to UnderTheKnife, the Cubs and Angels could be working on a deal that would send Jeff Fassero and Tom Gordon to the Angels for Shawn Wooten and an A ball 3B.

6) Yankees SS Derek Jeter had to leave yesterday's game, due to a bruised lower left leg, and will be reevaluated today, which will determine whether there is legimant damage.

Jeter's had 4 consecutive years with 30+ RCAA, with a high of 79 in 1999, and is off to a .449 SLG, .385 OBA, .834 OPS, 16 RCAA start in his first 84 games. He has a .859 career OPS, compared to his league average of .778, and 209 RCAA in 1020 games.

7) Angels 3B Troy Glaus had to leave yesterday's game, due to a mildly sprained ankle, while MGR Mike Scioscia says he's expected to be able to play today.

8) Redsox 2B Lou Merloni had to leave yesterday's game, due to soreness in his right ankle, and is day to day.

After -5 RCAA/.778 OPS and -6 RCAA/.703 OPS seasons the past 2 years, in a combined 92 games, Merloni's off to a .362 SLG, .347 OBA, .709 OPS, -1 RCAA start in his first 44 games. He has a .709 career OPS, compared to his league average of .775, and -23 RCAA in 218 games.

9) The Reds called up P Jared Fernandez.

The 30 year old knuckleballer had a 4.38 ERA/0 RSAA in 5 games (2 starts) with the team last year.

10) According to the team trainer, Padres P Kevin Jarvis's tendonitis in his elbow could be a season ending injury. He may need 3-4 months or rest or arthroscopic surgery.

11) The Royals sent P Mac Suzuki to the minors, after he cleared waivers. He had already been removed from the roster when he was designated for assignment earlier in the week.

12) Earl Francis died on Wednesday, at the age of 66.

Francis had a 3.78 career ERA, compared to his league average of 3.79, and -1 RSAA in 103 games with the Pirates and Cardinals, from 1960-65, with 101 of them being with the Pirates.

13) Yesterday, it was reported that the Phillies placed 1B Travis Lee on the 15 day DL and called up OF Eric Valent. But, Lee talked the team out of it. On the other hand, his MRI results are due today, which have the potential to put him on the DL "again".

14) Astros 2B Craig Biggio was given a day off yesterday.

The likely future Baseball Immortal is off to a .404 SLG, .344 OBA, .748 OPS, -1 RCAA start in his first 74 games and has a .814 career OPS, compared to his league average of .752, and 359 RCAA in 2029 games.

15) The Royals signed P Edwin Hurtado and INF Luis Ordaz to minor league contracts.
