Default Mets sign Lima

The Mets just signed Jose Lima.

Worst RSAA, since 1900--

Code:
RSAA RSAA 1 Herm Wehmeier -161 T2 Bobby Witt -130 T2 Kevin Jarvis -130 4 Mike Kekich -127 5 Jose Lima -126 6 Jimmy Haynes -120 7 Phil Ortega -119 T8 Jack Fisher -118 T8 Todd Van Poppel -118 T10 Leo Sweetland -110 T10 Harry McIntire -110

If he can repeat his 2005 performance of -50 RSAA the record is his.

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Have you read The Baseball Same Game?

As far as I am concerned this move comes one year too late.

I don't think that's going to happen; the Mets have enough arms on their staff.

Hey guys, they signed him to a minor league contract. No guarantee that he'll be killing the team ERA.

On the other hand, if he does make the big club, you think his wife might pose in a Mrs. Claus costume?

Given Lima's, um, "health issues", I'm not sure he still has a wife.

Well, he sang the National Anthem with her by his side on May 13, 2004. His "health issues" dated back to 2003. So, odds are good that he's still with THAT wife, but then again, I don't know for sure.

Several Mets fans on another board are just thrilled about this signing. They seem to think Lima is a good alternative to Victor Zambrano. I've tried counseling them, but to no avail.

Hopefully, he'll make the team. Then, they can see for themselves that you're right.

Too bad they couldn't have kept Benson too. That would have been one helluva Christmas party!

They probably traded the Bensons, to make room for Mr & Mrs Lima. 2 Divas wouldn't be a good thing, I don't think.
