Default "Frosty Bill" Has a Partner

On April 4, 1898, "Frosty Bill" Duggleby hit a Grand Slam HR in his first major league at bat. No one had ever done that before and for 107 years no one has done it since. Until Last night, that is. Florida Marlins rookie, Jermey Hermida, duplicated Duggleby's feat off the Cardinals Al Reyes in the 7th inning of the Marlins 10-5 loss to the Cardinals. Since Duggleby was a pitcher, Hermida becomes the first position player to accomplish this feat.

Bobby Bonds is the only other MLer to hit a GSHR in his first game, but he did it in his 3rd PA (2nd AB).

Jermey Hermida is the real deal.
His minor stats are awesome.

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Pretty good for a 21 year old at that level. But they aren't as yet quite 'awesome' are they? Except for this year's walks....111 in 118gs? (http://minorleaguebaseball.com/app/m...ilb&pid=435181)....He's walked well before but not like that.

Big lefty - lots of incipient power,

It's the BB/K ratio, age, and level that does it for me.
I'd love to be his agent.
