7) Rockies SS Royce Clayton hit his 100th career HR

After -19 RCAA/.708 OPS and -14 RCAA/.661 OPS seasons, Clayton hit .333 SLG, .301 OBA, .634 OPS, -36 RCAA in 146 games with the 2003 Brewers and is off to a .435 SLG, .353 OBA, .788 OPS, -5 RCAA start in his first 31 games. He has a .681 career OPS, compared to his league average of .765, and -237 RCAA in 1636 games.

8) Pirates 1B-OF Daryle Ward hit his 50th career HR.

After -2 RCAA/.783 OPS and -7 RCAA/.748 OPS seasons, Ward had a .193 SLG, .211 OBA, .403 OPS, -13 RCAA in 52 games with the 2003 Dodgers and is off to a 4 RCAA/1.364 OPS start in his first 3 games. He has a .752 career OPS, compared to his league average of .779, and -24 RCAA in 473 games.

1) Mets P John Franco moved into the top 5 for career games pitched.

After missing the 2002 season, Franco had a 2.62 ERA/6 RSAA in 38 games in 2003 and is off to a 6.59 ERA/-4 RSAA start in his first 15 games. He has a 2.79 career ERA, compared to his league average of 3.94, and 155 RSAA in 1051 games.

2) The Giants activated 2B Ray Durham from the DL and sent INF Brian Dallimore to the minors.

3) The Whitesox sent C-INF Jamie Burke to the minors.

Burke has -1 RCAA/.619 OPS in 18 career games, including 0 for 1 in 3 games in 2004.

4) The Rangers placed P Jeff Nelson on the 15 day DL and activated P Brian Shouse from the DL.

Nelson will surgery on torn meniscus in his right knee. After 2.76 ERA/10 RSAA and 3.94 ERA/1 RSAA seasons, he had a 3.74 ERA/4 RSAA in 70 games with the 2003 Mariners and Yankees and is off to a 5.40 ERA/0 RSAA start in his first 14 games. Nelson has a 3.36 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.59, and 96 RSAA in 728 games.

Shouse has a 4.11 ERA/9 RSAA in 98 career games, including a 3.10 ERA/13 RSAA in 62 games in 2003.

5) The Cardinals activated OF Roger Cedeno from the DL and sent P Josh Pearce to the minors.

After 2 RCAA/.733 OPS and -11 RCAA/.664 OPS seasons, Cedeno hit .378 SLG, .320 OBA, .698 OPS, -14 RCAA in 148 games with the 2003 Mets and is off to a 1 for 6, with -1 RCAA, start in his first 4 games. He has a .716 career OPS, compared to his league average of .773, and -16 RCAA in 972 games.

Pearce has a 5.55 ERA/-4 RSAA in 13 career games, including a 3.86 ERA/0 RSAA in 3 games in 2004.

6) The BlueJays called up 2B Frank Menechino and OF Simon Pond, sent INF Howie Clark to the minors and placed SS Chris Woodward on the 15 day DL.

Menechino had just been acquired in a trade with the A's.

Pond was 0 for 3, with -1 RCAA, in his first 2 career games.

Clark has -3 RCAA/.735 OPS in 67 career games, including a .289 SLG, .271 OBA, .560 OPS, -3 RCAA in 15 games in 2004.

7) The Mets activated LF Cliff Floyd from the DL and designated INF Ricky Gutierrez for assignment.

After 53 RCAA/.968 OPS and 42 RCAA/.920 OPS seasons, Floyd hit .518 SLG, .376 OBA, .894 OPS, 20 RCAA in 108 games in 2003 and is off to a 1 RCAA/.899 OPS start in his first 7 games. He has a .859 career OPS, compared to his league average of .774, and 153 RCAA in 1070 games.

After -4 RCAA/.746 OPS and -14 RCAA/.671 OPS seasons, Gutierrez had -2 RCAA/.629 OPS in 16 games with the 2003 Indians and is off to a .206 SLG, .257 OBA, .463 OPS, -8 RCAA start in 24 games. He has a .689 career OPS, compared to his league average of .772, and -103 RCA in 1098 games.

8) Mets P Al Leiter will have a MRI on his sore shoulder. Even if it doesn't show any serious problem, he may have to have his next start pushed back.

After 3.31 ERA/16 RSAA and 3.48 ERA/9 RSAA seasons, Leiter had a 3.99 ERA/5 RSAA in 30 starts in 2003 and is off to a 2.52 ERA/8 RSAA start in his first 7 starts. He has a 3.67 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.38, and 131 RSAA in 363 games.

9) The Devil Rays called up P Jorge Sosa and designated P Dicky Gonzalez for assignment.

After starting his career with 5.53 ERA/-12 RSAA and 4.62 ERA/-1 RSAA seasons, Sosa has a 6.10 ERA/-2 RSAA in his first 8 games.

Gonzalez has a 5.02 ERA/-6 RSAA in 20 career games, including a 6.14 ERA/-1 RSAA in 4 games in 2004.
