1) Barry Bonds's NL record tying streak of reaching base 58 consecutive games ended.
2) Reds SS Barry Larkin rejected a 1 year, $500,000 offer, plus incentives, from the team. It appears that this is the Reds final offer. The Reds offered to give him a ceremonial sendoff, but Larkin still hopes to play next year, somewhere, and declined. After 0 RCAA/.745 OPS (45 G) and -27 RCAA/.672 OPS (145 G) seasons, Larkin has a .382 SLG, .345 OBA, .726 OPS, -4 RCAA in 70 games. He has a .817 career OPS, compared to his league average of .749, and 270 RCAA in 2069 games. 3) Braves MGR Bobby Cox was suspended for 2 games, for a September 11 ejection, and will start serving it today. 4) Angels P Jarrod Washburn had to leave yesterday's game, due to an irritated right ankle. After 3.77 ERA/22 RSAA and 3.15 ERA/27 RSAA seasons, Washburn has a 4.43 ERA/-5 RSAA in 32 starts. He has a 3.96 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.58, and 53 RSAA in 139 games. 5) The Tigers called up SS Omar Infante. Infante, who also played 18 games in 2002, has a .246 SLG, .278 OBA, .524 OPS, -15 RCAA in 65 games. 6) The Pirates will call up C J.R. House. House was once a highly regarded prospect, but has had the past couple of seasons ruined by injuries. If Jason Kendall is traded, he still has a shot at being the catcher of the future. 7) Dodgers P Odalis Perez had to leave yesterday's game, after just 1 inning, due to a finger injury. After 4.91 ERA/-5 RSAA and 3.00 ERA/18 RSAA seasons, Perez has a 4.52 ERA/-10 RSAA in 30 starts. He has a 4.24 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.28, and -15 RSAA in 114 games. 8) According to the Baltimore Sun, there is a good chance the Orioles will trade Jerry Hairston Jr. or Brian Roberts during the offseason. 9) A's LF Jose Guillen was able to return to the lineup, despite the broken bone in his left hand. 10) Yankees 2B Alfonso Soriano set the major league record with his 13th game leadoff HR. Yawn. 11) The Yankees moved Mike Mussina's start back from today to tomorrow, to put him in line to start the 1st game of the Division Series. After 3.15 ERA/34 RSAA and 4.05 ERA/8 RSAA seasons, Mussina has a 3.14 ERA/29 RSAA in 30 starts. He has a 3.51 career ERA, compared to his league average of 4.59, and 301 RSAA in 385 games.
