the great Roberto
My favorite player to watch as a kid, that huge swing and bat, running and throwing like some strange vortex unseen previously. What a plaer. and a better man than ballplayer. Not many you can say that about...

Oops, never voted.
Spahn. Clemente great, but not quite with Spahn. A bit overrated if anything due to the circumstances of his death. Still a great player though, so douse those flames. Clemens - I'll wait for the 22 poll. Sosa. May get there, looks like he probably will, but if he retired today, I'd go with Spahn. And some respect to Arky too, not the best here but too good to be so forgotten. |

I must place my vote for Roberto.
I am not even trying to attempt a rational evaluation of talent, place in history, etc. This is greatly influenced by the fact that I don't leave the house without my 1971 style Pirates cap and the background on my computer is the great Roberto. Is there anyway to stuff the ballot box ? |

I went with Arky in a upset. Very underrated ball player. Not many shortstops hit as much as he did. Probably the third or fourth best hitting shortstop ever.
Clemens probably would have got my vote. He was very good while wearing number 21. |
