Default Sele..Thanks for telling us

This kind of is in the same mode of the Guttierez thread.
The Angels go up 5-2 last night on a Garret Anderson homerun in the Bronx.
Sele proceeds to hand the lead back to the Yanks .
He's pulled (finally) after giving up 7 walks and leaving the go ahead runs on base which Schoenweis allowed to score.
Game over.
After the game it comes out that Sele was feeling pain in his shoulder. Today he's MRI'd and it turns out he's got a tear in his rotator cuff.
Ya think he could have said something a little earlier?!
Levine could have come in 2 innings earlier at least. He's fresh and needs some innings . He could have at least thrown strikes!
If I was Scioscia I'd be ticked off big time.

you would think, but pain is probably a constant for these guys, and it's not something the pitching coach and manager really want to hear. there's some kind of machismo thing going on with pro-atheletes. It drives me crazy too. while we're talking, how about those pitchers who think the pain will go away after an offseason of rest and then have to get surgery in spring training. DUH!!! these things don't just heal themselves.

I'm down with gamers and all but he had nothing. And he knew it wasn't gonna get any better.
I think Scioscia and Black went with him for so long because they thought he'd find his location and rhythmn. He did neither and he new he wasn't going to find it.
Machismo can be such an idiotic thing.

Any word on your end who replaces him in the rotation? I know they recalled Lucasiewicz but I don't think he'll start.

Lukasiewicz is a left hander, which makes me think that Scioscia would try and give Schoeneweis another shot at the rotation.

Schoeny or Levine.
I had no idea that Matt Wise was on the DL!!
When Sele's MRI came back positive I wasn't concerned because I knew Wise could step in and do the job. I guess I'd better pay more attention to the minor league reports.
