I am another one that got here through Lee's e-mails, and got to Lee through Jim Baker's previews, and to Jim by way of Rob Neyer and ESPN.com, and of course to Rob through his work with Bill James.

Hey, maybe we can do a six degrees of Bill James thing.

We'll try not to hold that against you.
Just kidding, we love Willy - - just as long as his checks for Yankee tickets keep clearing.

I wish I could come up with an original response, but I got here due to Lee Sinins site. He plugged netshrine, and the rest is history.

I may have to change the name of the forum to LeeShrine? Seriously, Lee thanks for bringing everyone over - and, all, thanks for coming!

Xanadu Dragon wanted me to post here, so I will...heh.
I found NetShrine when I was just doing random search for players on Google. To be exact, I was looking up information on George Van Haltren. It was either him or Lave Cross, can't remember which. Might've been Lave, actually. Anyway, it linked to one of the pages of underappreciates, so I went there and found that cool. I later found the other pages neat as well, so I frequented the site every so often just because.
I kinda didn't pay attention to the existence of the forum until after I e-mailed the commissioner some suggestions for players he should induct into the NetShrine. (And also told him that Julio Franco hadn't retired yet)
Commissioner liked my suggestions, and thought I'd be good on the message boards. I think that sentiment has rang true.

While wallowing in the mire in the endless days of dread following Game 7 of the series, I was entranced by the beacon of light emanating from this forum...

I just noticed this thread. I, too, responded to the plug at Lee's site. Glad I did. I'm a member of a few other forums/lists, but this one is the best - knowledgeable people that aren't trying to put down other participants. Now, I rarely go on the others.
