Looks like Dodgers-Giants is scheduled to be the game of the week. And before you suggest a 1:00 start, remember that it isn't known ahead of time whether FOX will broadcast at 1:00 or 4:00.

Here's the most lopsided game that I remember from last year. The losing team ended up recovering quite nicely.

Good memory! Yeah, I would say they shook that one off.
Saw on baseballprimer this AM that someone else remembered the Braves getting shelled by the O's, 22-1, in 1999 - - the same year the Braves made the WS. Smoltz pulled a Vazquez that night, getting banged up right out of he box.

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Just thought of this after this weekend, maybe the Yankees are going to need those 6 HTH games to catch the first place Red Sox!

Outside of all these remaining games mentioned, Boston has 13 other games and New York has 9 games.

The Boston games are against some very strong teams: Oakland, Seattle, Anaheim, and Texas. (The Oakland and Seattle games – 7 of the 13 – are on the road.) The New York games are against Minnesota, Kansas City, and Cleveland. (All are at home sans the Royals series.) How about a prediction on these games?

It would not be unreasonable to expect the Yankees to win 5 of their 9 games and for the Red Sox to win 8 of their 13.

Sox went on to win 10 of the 13 - - - great prediction, huh?
At least NY can match, maybe, what was predicted.

Projected pitching match-ups for the series in NY:

Fri - B. Arroyo v. O. Hernandez
Sat - D. Lowe v. J. Lieber
Sun - P. Martinez v. M. Mussina

Pedro v. Moose? You have to think ESPN wants that game.

Just checked ESPN. This is the game they have for Sunday:
ESPN'S SUNDAY NIGHT BASEBALL PRESENTED BY MCDONALDS: MILWAUKEE BREWERS VS. HOUSTON ASTROS

I wonder for how long?
