Dont know if this is the right place for posting this, I'm sure Steve will reroute as necessary.

Here is an interesting thread from Baseball Primer on the various uses of statistics, etc. I wonder how many people here visit that site - I dont recognize any of the aliases used between here and there.

I'm quite curious to see what y'all think of that thread discussion.

OK, now that I'm being really verbose. The second thread I posted is right, but you have to scroll down a ways to get to the real argumentative part of the whole thing.

Sometimes looking at a bunch of STATS make my eyes glaze over!
But his post on the broken bobblehead made my whole family laugh! Too cute and very relatable!

Here's a question - - when does a stat become a statistic and no longer live as a sabermetric?
