Just have fun. - Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, in The Sandlot I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller! Have you read The Baseball Same Game? |

You would think that a guy who had a .300 career average and an OBP of .376 would be better than a league average hitter, but that is all he was. Highly versatile he could play a number of positions. In 1950 when he won the batting title he played 5 different positions.

Quote:
His numbers were inflated by his parks. The average park factor throughout his career (prorated for his playing time per year) was 113, with the average during his Boston days of a very high 120. That park factor, during his Boston days means that, while he was playing in a league with 4.89 RC/G in average park, he played his home games in a 6.85 RC/G environment!!!
