One of my personal favorites. Didn't reach the majprs for good until age 33Had five seasons with 20+ RSAA. After his rookie season in 1945 he was banned from the game for considering jumping to the Mexican League. Once banned he did go to the Mexican League. He did return to the Bigs in 1950 as a 33 year-old pitcher for the GIant.

He earned his nickname "The Barber" for his willingness to pitch in tight.

I was wondering why there was that 5-year gap. Wikipedia was completely useless for Maglie, and I was too lazy to look anywhere else.
