1986 Was The Last Time
Is it true that the last time that a team with the highest paid player in the game won a ring was the 1986 Mets (Gary Carter)?

Foster was released by the Mets in August and then the Sox signed him a week later..
I would think the Mets would have been liable for his contract until he signed with the Sox.. At that point, wouldnt the Sox be on the hook? Also, although he wasnt the highest player in all of MLB, Joe Carter was the highest paid player in the AL when the Jays won in 1993...
