POSTING TIP FOR THE DAY: When composing a post, think about what you would say if the intended recipient was an individual who was actually sitting just two feet in front of you, in person, rather than just some far away and anonymous audience who only can identify you as text on a PC screen - - and then write your post in that manner. It makes for remarkable and sincere discourse.

The prisoner should not be given special rights for a freaking football game, no matter how important.

Normally, I would agree. This case was slightly different, and it has nothing to do with the Big Game.

The guy is already in county jail, and was awaiting trial. Certain he was going to be convicted, he made a deal with the D.A. that he would plead guilty and serve his term right away IF he would be allowed to remain in county lockup until after the Big Game, after which he will be transferred to the state prison for his full term. Otherwise, he'd be sent to the transfer facility which has no TV and he'd miss the game.

He saved the taxpayers some money.

Hopefully, this doesn't set some kind of precedent. On its own, it seems relatively harmless.

After all this publicity he had better hope that his new cell mate is not a Michigan fan!

The judge involved in the case was on "Cold Pizza" this morning. The guy seemed rather bland and no-nonsense, but made sense explaining that by doing this, he got the case wrapped up a month sooner and saved some taxpayer money.

I would be okay with that.
