Question Truly One Of A Kind

How many "one time only" things are there in the history of baseball? Can you name some? I'm thinking things like "Larry Yount" and "Johnny Vander Meer."

Don Larson '56
Tony Cloninger - mid 60s (two grand slams in one game by a pitcher)

Fernando Tatis...shame that he'll just be known for getting 2 grand slams in an inning now.

Mark Whiten. One career IP. He becomes the only player in major league history, with at least one inning pitched, to get every out with a strikeout.

Is Dave Eiland the only guy to give up a HR to the 1st batter he faced and then hit a HR in his own 1st AB?

Stennett did it.

Normally, he was an excellent outmaker, with a .306 career OBA, compared to his league average of .332, a .665 OPS, compared to a .718 average, and -102 RCAA in 1237 games.

Here's another hot off the presses!

Boston's Bill Mueller became the first player in major league history to hit grand slams from both sides of the plate in a game, connecting for three homers to lead the Red Sox over the Texas Rangers 14-7 on 7/29/03.
