Ryne Sandberg
Ryno seems to be getting a surprisingly lukewarm reception from those posting their opinions on the HOF ballot thread.
Ryne Sandberg was once thought of as possibly the greatest 2B of all time. He certainly was not that, but I never thought that a serious baseball fan would ever suggest that Ryno wouldn't and/or shouldn't go into the HOF. His fade in 1994, and his less than spectacular comeback in 1996-97 appear to have damaced his reputation as a great player. Where do you think Ryno ranks? And did his fadeout in 1994, and/or his comeback in 1996-97 hurt his standing? Will he get in the Hall? Will he get in this year? Should he? |
