Default Raiders want changes in uniforms of Bucs, Panthers

Raiders want changes in uniforms of Bucs, Panthers

I was tempted to post this in "Entertainment" for the comedic aspects of the story.

Quote:
The Oakland Raiders have asked a judge to prevent the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers from wearing their uniforms for games in California because they violate the Raiders' trademark rights.

Quote:
Papers filed by the Raiders in the San Jose case say the Buccaneers' "is likely to dilute the distinctive quality of the Raiders' mark, thereby lessening its capacity to identify the Raiders and causing irreparable harm that cannot adequately be compensated by an award of damages."

Why don't you sue the Spurs for wearing Silver and Black? Hell, why don't you sue the L.A. Kings for wearing Silver and Black, they stole your scheme while you were playing in the Colosseum anyway...

Al Davis always wants attention in the strangest damn ways.

The mantra needs to be changed to "Just Whine, Baby".

Oh, and BTW, I don't see a god damn bit of resemblance between Carolina and Oakland. The White Sox have as much resemblance.

they did:

NFL spokesman Joe Browne said the issue is one of a handful that remain from a 1996 suit by the Raiders listing multiple grievances against the league. Some were transferred to courts in Los Angeles, where another Raiders case against the league is being fought.

Nothing surprises me with the Raiders. At this moment a trial is going in a suit ny the team against the city Oakland and Colieseum. The Raiders are claiming that Oakland promised them a sold out stadium to get the team to move. The team is only asking for $1 billion in damages. Nevermind the fact that Oakland is currently $45 million in the hole. I wonder what color the sky is in Al Davis' world.

I would think that they had a chance to object in their own little cabal - because I know the NFL has to approve 'everything'. So this is a baseless annoyance.
