Question Who Will Win The AL West In 2007?

Who is your 2007 winner, and why?

Man, this is baseball. You gotta stop thinking. Just have fun.
- Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, in The Sandlot

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Have you read The Baseball Same Game?

As much as the Rangers and Mariners have tried to better themselves, I see it as still between the A's and Angels. And I think the Angels have more talent.

Some key injuries to the other teams, a few bad bounces, and the Mariners take it.

The As always seem to hang around, but I don't see this race being that close. Once that kid in the outfield gets healthy, the Angels sould run away from this during the Dog Days. The most interesting thing about this division will be watching Ichiro play in a contract year. More power? Or will he press too much and look human?

all 4 teams look pretty lousy to me. i suppose the angels are the least lousiest.

of course, i am ignoring the infamous buck showalter curse, which would mean the rangers win the WS

The Angels have fewer "if's" than the rest of the group.

The Angels will win.

Because I'm an Angel fan, have been since Anaheim stadium opened. Although, there have been more than a few years when I was not surprised that they didn't win.

Ichiro previously resisted playing Centerfield because he was worried all the running might take away from his bat (given how much of his bat is based on his speed). If his performance doesn't decline with his move to a premium defensive position like CF, he's a top 10 MVP candidate even if he does only hit 8 homers.

But I'm still going with the A's. You know Billy's not going to finish the season with the team he has now.
