Default no one could plate this guy

This one's probably easy to look up, so can anyone get it without the use of encylopedias. Who holds the major league record for most hits in a season without scoring a single run?

I have no idea of the answer, and I expect it would be hard to look up without Lee's software

Smoky Burgess it is. 21 hits and no runs scored for the 1966 White Sox.

Only way he would have scored, at that age and size, is if someone HRed behind him. He did have 15 RBI on those 21 hits - - - my guess, all PHs.

Good question Strohs. Welcome to the forum.

Steve, if you hadn't known the answer, am I right in assuming it would have been an easy one for Lee's software?

T5 Hank Riebe 1948 12 0
T5 Fred Merkle 1907 12 0
T5 Gene DeMontreville 1903 12 0
T5 Jaime Navarro 1995 12 0
