Question Mets Owe The Yanks?

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but, the Mets have lost 16 of their last 18 games. In his last 22 games, Mike Piazza's OPS is .422 - yes, his OPS. Is it possible that the Yankees slide in their lead has taken some of the focus away from this (Mets) story and that they (the Mets) would be hearing it worse (from the media) if the Yankees were still 10 up?

I've been going to games since August 8, 1973....and on August 22, 2004, finally, a foul ball came my way. I had to reach for it, and it deflected off the tip of my right index finger. Shoot, if I was only 4 inches taller!

Have you read The Baseball Same Game?

I noticed the 10 game losing streak, but not the Piazza story.

Good point on it.

Meanwhile, Piazza is down to 3 RCAA. This would be the 4th consecutive year in which he declined and 5th time in the past 6.

Piazza may never see another big money contract again.

He shouldn't see another big deal, but what should he see?? He will be 36 next season which is ancient for a starting catcher. I'll wager he will want at least an IRod sort of contract even though he is 3 years older.
