I didn't watch this, but reading the story made me feel better about humanity in general, and Mo Cheeks in particular.

This could have been the worst day in this poor kid's life after she forgot the words to the National Anthem, but instead of a Macy Gray-like public meltdown, the coach and crowd came through like heroes and saved the day.

YTF, I'm glad you started this thread. I saw Cheeks come to her aid, and it put a smile on my face. With all that's wrong with sports - and the Blazers are a great example - it was great to see what Mo did. I loved the guy when I was a kid, and he still has the class he did back then.

And when I had my wife watch what he did, I could see that she was getting a little choked up. It was a beautiful moment.

I am not a fan of the NBA for many reasons, but this was a great display. Nice job Mo Cheeks!!!!!

It's refreshing to the see Portland in the news for good reasons.

Considering all the other things he had to worry about at the onset of the game, to have the presence and grace to make that move was incredible. Awesome baby - with a capital A.

It was really classy of Cheeks to come in and save the girl. Too bad he coaches a basketball team full of thugs and criminals--he deserves better than that.
