Now that I've updated the chart to include the 2001 season, Rey Ordonez has moved into the all time top 100 worst RCAA list.

Rey will never set the record - - but will be in the Top 25 before he's "done."

Maybe we should add to the list of 'Things for Bud to do' and ban Ordonez. I don't get the Ordonez haters. If he's so bad, you guys harping on it makes me curious. Almost like a jealousy thing.

I couldn't help but asking what exactly is an RCAA? I'll probably add it to the "Lingo" thread in the "History" section.

RCAA is a stat I invented that compares the player's runs created figure (a Bill James stat) to what the league average player created, given the same number of outs and adjusted to that player's park.
In Ordonez's case, his -173 RCAA means he cost the Mets 173 runs from what an average player would have done.

It's not hate. I love the guy - - for me, there's no better sight than seeing Rey Ordonez in a Met uniform standing in the batter's box. It's a true "rey" of sunshine. If I ever find that magic lamp, the last wish would be:
Let Rey Ordonez play forever as a NY Met, and bat him leadoff every game.
