I tell you, I would not touch this guy for next season. I am a serious doubter he will put these type numbers up again. Ask me why, and I can't tell you anything specific, but I just have a hunch the next team who gets him, gets a lemon.

If I remember right, his back is an accident waiting to happen too.

I've heard the Orioles are interested in him.
Shouldn't that be a red flag to any sane-minded teams? If you know the Orioles are interested in a player, wouldn't that just turn you off?
Btw, since Buzz is omniscient, I'm inclined to agree with him on this one. Which leads me to another question that maybe he can answer - what is the sound of one hand clapping?

If cheese is getting its picture taken, what do they tell it to say?

The 1 thing the Twins lacked this year was a RH power threat, & Gonzalez is definitely that. He wouldn't be that big of a liability as an outfielder with Jones & Hunter out there with him. Also the Metrodome has a very small right field. The Twins tried to make a run at "JaunGone" last off-season but he wanted too much jing, who knows, maybe with the economy in the toilet it could work out this winter.

How much could the Twinkies come up with in cash? Not enough, I suspect.

Yeah, if anything Gonzalez will expect more this year than he got from Cleveland last year, because he's coming off a year in which he put up great numbers instead of a crappy-ass, injury riddled year in which he demonstrated bad attitude. He'll be too pricey for Carl Pohlad, I think.

Very few options for Juan. Maybe back to Texas, if they do trade Pudge? Or, perhaps the M's - - if they lose Boone? I could see Juan being Plan B for a lot of teams that may lose a player like Bonds or Giambi. But, if he thinks people are going to break down his door, he's got a long wait.

I hate to say it, but NY might be an option for Juan. The Mets might be willing to pay. Ugh.

If he were a "normal" person, and the injury spector wasn't there - - he would be a perfect fit for the Mets - - they could use a big bat in LF. But, his attitude and injury history should be enough to scare off the Mets.

I wasn't saying that Gonzalez would wind up in Minnesota, just that he would look good in a Twins uniform and a perfect compliment to that outfield. The Twins tried to make a run at Juan last winter but when numbers were exchanged his agents never even bothered to respond to Terry Ryan. Too bad, he would probably help put the Twinks over the top.

I'm wondering if the average Joe can go to his boss and say "I did a great job last year so where's my 40% raise? Hmmmmmmmmm.

Anyone see that he took out his own $50,000,000 insurance policy that protects his back & will transfer it to whatever team signs him. Takes some of the gamble out of singing Jaun(Gone) I guess.

That's only good if he signs for $50 mill or less. ;)

CF, where's the insurance policy that lots of these superstars won't put up the same numbers after having their super duper walk year?
