Where will the Cavs rank among the pantheon of bad teams in modern NBA history?

As it stands, they are 11-53, with 18 games to go. They are getting worse, not better and have a good shot at losing all of their remaining games, and by good margins. The average point differential for the Cavs (so far) has been -10.9, which is 8th-worst in modern NBA history.

Here's a chart of the worst teams, ranked by negative point differential:

Season Team W-L Pt Diff

'92-'93 Dallas Mavs 10-71 -15.2
'97-'98 Denver Nuggets 11-71 -12.4
'72-'73 Philadelphia '76ers 9-72 -12.1
'82-'83 Houston Rockets 14-68 -11.6
'86-'87 LA Clippers 12-70 -11.2
'70-'71 Cleveland Cavs 15-67 -11.2
'88-'89 Miami 15-67 -11.2
'87-'88 LA Clippers 17-65 -10.3

Now, in fairness to the 'Sixers, they weren't playing expansion teams in '72-'73. Also, the '88-'89 Heat were in their first season, while the Cavs have been festering for quite awhile (except for the early-mid '90s when they did everything they could to win but couldn't stop MJ).

This season's Cavs COULD finish with the 3rd-worst record in modern NBA history, and with the 3rd- or 4th-worst point differential as well.

At least Cleveland is bad on purpose (Could they be lucky enough to get Lebron?). Think of how Knicks fans must feel.

I don't think even LeBron could save this team......and Cleveland would probably find a way to screw him up, too.....

It took 'em nearly the whole season, but the Cavs have FINALLY won two in a row! They pasted Golden State the other day to accomplish that feat.

Now, if they can just string THREE "W"s in a row, they can get their own website!

Ytown and all interested parties,

Just a quick note to all Cavs season ticket holders:

With tax day just 13 days away, be aware that
ALL season tickets can be written off as a
TOTAL LOSS.

That's bad enough, but I had to declare my Tribe season tix as "Farm Income".

Thoughts from the Cavs - Pistons game I went to last night.

Ilgauskas is probably the best Center in the East when healthy. Cleveland could really use a point guard.
Darius Miles is a great athlete but not a great basketball player. He would do very well with a Jason kidd type point guard though.
Diop is a stiff. He won't ever be a good player. Mihm has slight potential.
