This is a book written by the WIVES of the players, Bobbie Bouton and Nancy Marshall. If I recall right, it's letters between them during the season. I probably read it about 15 years ago - or longer. Anyone else ever read it?
Nope. Doesn't really appeal to me.

Unless it's all about the game, I wouldn't be interested. I really don't care what the wives or families do during the season.

It's been many years - I would have to go back and look - - min., I would say, for those nosey who like to read other people's correspondence, it meets that need.

Actually, I found the book a pretty interesting read. It doesn't have much to do with the subject of baseball, but is says a heck of a lot about human nature, how fame and success change people, and what it's like to be in a marriage (or two) that dies. Jim Bouton comes across as a hypocrite, but Marshall is the one that really takes a beating, coming across as a complete and utter s.o.b.
Will Carroll says he mentioned this book when talking to Dr. Marshall, who responded with the emperor of all withering glares. Heh.
